Appraising someone depends on your own values. Someone spiritually focused will tend to see the person as having worth on their own merits. A more conventional, materialistic person would probably think less of someone without a job....such is the conditioning of many societies.

When I was out of work and someone asked what I did, I replied (without blinking)
"I am a full time person!"

(I think it is lessons of Ishmel)

A person's value, does not matter upon what they have in life. Whether they are rich, or they are poor. Nor is any person more valuable or better than another. Each person is unique and brings a different aspect and perspective to the table and tapestry of life.

No person in the world is valuable in monetary terms
