20+ years ago male mediums were very few and far between especially in the public eye we had the likes of Doris Stokes, mature women, it's strange how now there seems to be more male mediums, who are also younger, what are your thoughts on this is it because men are openly more sensitive? Even 20 years ago men were encouraged to be 'strong' and mocked for any show of weakness (emotion.)

Re: Male and Female mediums
I feel that it perhaps comes from the "wise woman" of the village, where you went to get healing, advice etc. I tend to agree that years ago men were brought up to hide their emotions and to be a man!
I am glad there are more male mediums out there now who are willing to admit that they can talk to spirit and help others connect. Spirit doesn't discriminate when coming through, they dont care if you are male or female as long as they can get their messages across to the living.
I think society today is more accepting of male mediums etc as shown by John Edwards, Derek Acorah and others who have recently come into the public arena. We have a couple of well known Australian male mediums here too, even though Australia is sometimes lacking in acceptance of people who are not like everyone else. But I am hoping that will change as the rest of us try to open people's minds to what is really out there and get them thinking outside the box.

Re: Male and Female mediums
It is good to see more male mediums in the public eye as back then it seemed to be seen a bit as a 'girly thing' mediumship and all that goes with it, it's so good to see more and more men involved, and I think the influx of male mediums has helped that.

Re: Male and Female mediums
He is 38 now.
When he was 17, he overdosed on paracetemol.
Only cos he vomited did they help him.
But he still kept trying to kill himself.
Then, suddenly it all stopped and he could see spirit, hear them.
But he wasn't surprised. about it.
I think he had a walk in to be truthful.
