    Seance?

Post  Violet on Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:16 am

    First topic message reminder :

Seances seemed to die a death for a long time, until programmes such as Most Haunted became popular.

Have any of you attended a seance and if so what was it like?

I think (I know?) dead people are in the light, they don't loose their personality - and they are furthermore interested what beloved people, still living here in this life, are doing and what they feel. They will have an eye on development of the ones they love.

I also think that often spirits are doing the first step to show "hey, I'm still alive!". And finally I think that a spirit plain and simple will not appear if spirit doesn't want that. In that case a medium (or someone other) will call in vain for a contact.

In a few weeks I will participate in what we call here a seance.

It's physical mediumship. The medium sits behind a curtain, in trance...

... and we others will look for flying trumpets and other stuff, listen to direct voices and I hope that I can shake hands with a materialzation!

I'm very glad that I've got a ticket for this very famous medium.

    Thank you very much, Mac.

I think you've made many experiences with physical mediumship?

As a medium? As a sitter? Do you love it?

    Karin

    I'm not a medium.

My experiences of physical mediumship were interesting but I do not like
pm any more than other forms of mediumship. And I always have
concerns that sitters are more interested in

physical phenomena than they are in evidential mediumship. Reports are
so often more about the phenomena than they are about the production of
    evidence of survival.

Unless the phenomena show survival evidence, they are little better than intriguing tricks in my view.

You are right mac. That was my thought too.

The last days I read a report about seances given by David Thompson. In one of them a mother was able to embrace her deceased child... I had to cry while reading this.

    Hi Violet,

and how many seances have you visited?

I have to travel 400 km, more than six hours in the train... and in the evening the same way back.

But I know it is worth...

Wow that's a long way Karin, I went to a 'trick' seance once when I was a teenager, I didn't know it was a trick until later, all very embarrassing when I think of it now  I've been to a couple but it was a long time ago would like to go to another now i'm 'further along the road' (so to speak) I think i'd enjoy it more now.
