    "Gargoygoyles"

    Post  neptune13 on Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:00 am

Why are there so many "Gargoyles" on "Ancient Architecture"?
    What are they symbolic of?

I notice a lot on pictures of buildings in "New York?

Hi Neptune, I seem to remember hearing or reading that they were placed on buildings to frighten away bad things/energies (I can't remember exactly), you often see them on old churches and other buildings, I'm sure going off what I heard/read that they are there for protection.

I really like gargoyles and have a few small ornamental ones in my house they're cute

Oh and if I remember correctly they were placed high up so they could see stuff coming from a distance, but please don't quote me on that.

    Hello Neptune.
A gargoyle was believed to protect a building from negative energy,
so they would put them over buildings.
They were supposed to scare the evil away from it's scary looks.

    Hello,

My computer is playing up and I just lost what I tried to post

    Hello "zach"
I think you are talking about land and water based "Gargoyles"...

I also agree that "Gargoyles" we see on the beautiful pieces of High Rise Architecture" are "Physical Symbols of Protection against Negative Energies"...having read the "Posts" on this "Thread"...but...I would be keen to know about "Chimeras"...

    Peace and Much Love...

    Hello "zach"

Is "The Golden Fleece" part of the "Greek Mythology"? too...
Did the mythological "Jason and the Argonauts" fight these "Chimera"?...

    Looking forward to answers

    Hello again "zach"

What was "Jasons" relationship to "Bellerophon"?...
I have heard of "Jason" in movies I saw as a child but I haven't heard of "Bellerophon"...

Our world has a wealth of "Mystical Experiences" to share and my curiosity has no "Bounds"...

Does "Greek Mythology" bring them together?...
