Although most witches use color for specific purpose, I generally use black, just because I like it. I feel the intent and energy raised for the working are the factors that control the outcome. If color helps some attune and focus, to help direct intent, I can understand that. I find, however, it's not the color of the candle, it's how you use it that works best for me.

Goddess - Kali, the Black One - Maman Brigitte - Moon Goddesses - Ogum -

Interesting, some black candles came my way a few says ago, and someone said 'ooh aren't they for the occult, black magic and things'I told them no, I like black candles just because they are black, but I thought i'd look up the colour meaning isn't it weird how anything black is associated with the darker side of life?

I will use black candles if I really want to "ground" a spell or intention, I find it gives "weight" to the intention.
