    Terrified of death

    Post  tammielamb87 on Tue Dec 23, 2014 11:46 pm

I was never afraid of death and dying before I had my children. Then all of a sudden my mortality was in the forefront of my mind. I can't shake it. It has been a thought in the back of my mind and just pops up out of nowhere throughout the day. I used to believe in an afterlife but after my children I wanted to make sure that there was 100% without a shadow of a doubt someplace we go after we pass. I hate the thought that one day they will just cease to exist and there is just blackness. Especially if something happens where they pass before I do I don't think I would be able to make it. My daughter is 7 and was born with a laundry list of birth defects that specialists still can't figure out, kidney disease, has had 12 surgeries and almost died twice from meningitis. Most would say my thoughts about death would stem from that but I think that I would have them anyways. Enough rambling. I guess I want to know what are some of your experiences that convinced you whole heartedly that you and your loved ones will continue on. And how do you not second guess yourself with the possibility it could just be a hallucination or just a dream?

Hi Tammie, Sorry to hear that your daughter has had so many health problems, I hope she is doing ok now. About your question, when my paternal grandmother was dying, she told us her husband who died in the war was waiting for her. Then when I sat at my mothers bedside in the cancer hospital, she would have conversations with her mother who died about 20 years earlier, she  told me her mother wanted her to go with her, my mother couldn't understand why I couldn't see my grandmother in the room. A few months later my uncle told me my mother was waiting for him, he wasn't ill, but died not long after. I'm convinced that they were all telling me the truth. I also had a dream one time where I saw all my deceased relatives sitting together.

It seems like everyone has experiences but me. All my relatives have had death bed visions, peak in darien experiences, seen apparitions and my husband is a ghost hunter with evidence. My mind just can't seem to grasp that there could be an afterlife it kind of seems too good to be true. Especially with science constantly shooting these amazing experiences down. I just wish I could see and feel what everyone else is.

As a medium i know there is an afterlife i too have had many ops 32 infact i have had 3 near death experiences too.so from my own experiences i know about life after death, thats without the validation i have given others from theit loved ones, there is nothing to fear abot death because death doesnt excist its only a continuation of life. your body is what stays behind but your soul carries on. when we have children i suppose most people would feel like you do.but for myself i know differently.

Not everyone has such experiences but there is a belief that we are, in essence, spirit and just the body dies.
When I came close to death, I knew for certain something would continue but it was not me as I know myself here
    i.e. my ego....so I didn't find that particularly reassuring.

You say you wish you could see but then shut down that receptivity by admitting that it seems too good to be true.
So, it sounds to me, that the door to experiencing such a possibility is not exactly ajar.

There can be many events that happen in our lifetime that will shake us to your core, and cause us to reevaluate our beliefs and thoughts.

As a medium I have spoken with spirits that no longer live on earth, so that has given me some confidence in the idea of an afterlife. I have also been blessed to be taken into the realms of spirit whilst in various states of consciousness. So that also helps build up a knowledge and belief in the afterlife.
